Once you take a bite of these delicious homemade mango popsicles you won’t want to stop! These homemade ice pops have the perfect texture from the fresh mango, creamy yogurt, sweet honey, and a touch of tartness from the lemon juice. Simply blend up the ingredients in your blender, using a little water if needed to get the right consistency, and freeze in popsicle molds.
My kids and I love popsicles, so I make homemade popsicles all year round. This mango popsicle recipe is a hit, and never last more than a day in our house. The hardest thing about making homemade popsicles is having the patience to wait until they are done. Homemade popsicles take about 4-6 hours to freeze and we have learned by experience if you try to take them out of their molds too quickly your popsicle will be frozen on the outside and mushy in the middle.
Creamy mango homemade popsicles are always worth the wait, and you will want to make these all summer long!
Ingredients for Mango Popsicles Recipe
When there aren’t that many ingredients in popsicles, you want to make sure that each ingredients is good quality:
Mango should be peeled and cut into chunks, you can use fresh or frozen. It is best to use ripe mangos, they are sweeter and have better flavor.
Yogurt adds a nice creaminess to this recipe, it makes them taste like mango cream popsicles, as one of my children calls them.
Honey is used to add a little extra sweetness to these pop sicles. You can skip adding honey altogether if you are trying to cut back on sweeteners but I find a little extra sweetener helps with the texture of the popsicles. Add between 2 and 4 tablespoons of honey depending on the level of sweetness you want.
Freshly squeezed lemon juice adds a little acidity, tartness, and freshness to homemade popsicle recipes.
Water or milk can be added while blending to achieve correct consistency. 1/2 cup to 1 cup is all that should be needed in these homemade popsicles.
Equipment needed for Mango Popsicles
Blender or food processor I use my Vitamix, but any blender should do.
Popsicle mold This is the popsicle mold I use, but there are so many great options!
Popsicle sticks I like to buy a bunch in bulk since we make homemade popsicles so often.
