Kids love to make and eat these Fourth of July Fruit skewers with Marshmallows. All you need are wooden skewers, blueberries, raspberries and marshmallows.
Ingredients for Fourth of July Fruit Skewers
All you’ll need for these Fourth of July fruit skewers is fresh fruit, marshmallows and wooden skewers.
Fresh Fruit like raspberries and blueberries. You could also use cut strawberries in place or raspberries if you want. You’ll need one large package of raspberries.
Marshmallows make the white stripes in the flag and using the miniature size works best. You could also use cubes of angel food cake instead of marshmallows.
Wood Skewers are needed for this recipe, I always have a variety on hand for fruit kebabs projects.
How to Make Fourth of July Skewers
These are so easy to make! Simply add the fruit in the desired flag pattern and assemble on a serving platter. My kids love marshmallows so the white stripe is thick in this version, but you can change the ratio to suit your taste.
Alternate between raspberries and marshmallows for two-thirds of the skewers, and for about one-third of them you will add some blueberries for the corner of the American flag.
I let my kids make this treat, so even though it didn’t look exactly proportional, they had the best time. It’s a great activity for them to do while you are prepping other Fourth of July recipes in your kitchen.
