Candy Snaps® Grapes with sour cream and brown sugar is a simple and refreshing dessert. The grapes are bursting with sweet flavor with a hint of strawberry, the sour cream offers a tangy richness, and a sprinkle of brown sugar adds a touch of texture.

I’m really excited about sharing this recipe for a couple reasons. First, I think the combo of fruit + sour cream + a touch of brown sugar is just really unique. I remember being skeptical when I first tried something similar, berries with sour cream and brown sugar, on French toast about ten years ago. I surprised myself by absolutely loving the sweet and tangy combination. If you are put off by the idea of sour cream with fruit, please just give it a try, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised too! This recipe is more traditionally made with strawberries, but I actually prefer it with these Candy Snaps grapes.
Which leads me to the second reason I’m so excited about this recipe, these grapes are amazing! As you can tell from the above picture, my kids stole a bunch of grapes, exposing the stems, before I even had a change to finish photographing! Candy Snaps grapes aren’t just your average grapes; they are a new red seedless variety exploding with flavor and a hint of strawberry that lingers in your mouth with each bite. My family and I are obsessed with these grapes and I think you’ll love them too.
For a little background, this Candy Snaps grapes are from Grapeman Farms. With more than 40 years of experience, Grapeman Farms, has a long history in producing premium quality table grapes. Candy Snaps® is grown locally outside of Bakersfield. Each step of the process for growing Candy Snaps® from choosing the most fertile land to harvesting and packing for the retail stores is carefully orchestrated so that the consumer gets the freshest fruit as quickly as possible.
Each bunch of Candy Snaps® is hand selected and hand packed in each box to provide a perfectly ripened, sweet and delicious grape. Rushed to their state-of–the art cold storage facilities, they are picked up from there and travel in refrigerated trucks and planes to be delivered to consumers.
I love to know about the origins of where my food comes from and that the creator of this new variety is IFG®, located locally in Bakersfield. Known for other famous table grapes that have developed a cult following such as CottonCandy®, Sweet Sapphire® and Jack’s Salute®, IFG®’s breeder, Dr. David Cain, uses simple traditional cross breeding to develop varieties that have special flavors and shapes that capture the attention of consumers and make grape eating a new experience.
IFG® has licensed growers in 15 different countries with the goal to provide consumers a year-round supply of this amazing fruit. Stay tuned as there are some other new varieties from IFG® making their debut in the market later this season too!
Look for Candy Snaps® from Grapeman Farms available now at Costco until the supply runs out! Knowing the story of where your food is developed and grown and how it gets to your table makes your choices for selecting high quality produce that much easier. Plus, after you have a sample of these grapes you will naturally ask yourself “How do these grapes have such amazing flavor?!” and you’ll already know 😉
Ingredients
Candy Snaps® Grapes are bursting with flavor with hint of strawberry that lingers in your mouth. These grapes are available now at Costco until the supply runs out, so hurry over soon, you won’t regret it! Simply rinse and half the grapes as the base for this recipe.
Sour Cream adds a tangy richness to this simple dessert. Use a full fat, high quality sour cream. You can also substitute with creme fraiche or Greek yogurt, but sour cream is by far my favorite for this recipe because the tanginess of the sour cream really brings out the sweet and intense flavor of the grapes.
Brown Sugar isn’t needed for sweetness in this dessert because the grapes are so sweet, but a little sprinkle simply adds a little texture. Another delicious variation is to forget the brown sugar altogether and mix in Cointreau orange flavored liqueur to the sour cream instead.
Instructions
Divide the halved grapes into four small serving dishes. Mix the sour cream with a spoon until it is smooth and creamy. Spoon a dollop of sour cream on each dish, and then follow with a small sprinkling of brown sugar. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Thanks Sapana! Lately I’m leaning towards simple for sure!
Oooo! I’ve done this combo with strawberries, but never thought about using it on grapes. Such a good idea. I know what I’m doing for dessert tonight.
I love this recipe with strawberries, but I almost like it more with these grapes! They are so sweet and have a hint of strawberry flavor so it is perfection!
I was looking for a recipe to turn grapes into desert and I was so happy to stumble upon your recipe here. My kids loved it.
When I told my kids what it was they were not excited, but they ended up loving it! Glad yours did too.
This is certainly a coincidence. Last weekend my daughter was waxing poetic on the CottonCandy grapes she had picked up at Costco. We went to Costco and they said they were so popular they couldn’t keep them in stock. I’m really anxious to now try the Candy Snaps and see if I can’t find them. I’ve never tried serving frapes with sour cream and brown sugar. Will definitely give this a try.
These grapes are made by the same creator, IFG, and honestly I like them even more- which is hard to believe because the Cotton Candy ones are amazing! I hope you are able to try the Candy Snaps for yourself at Costco… please let me know what you think! Thanks Marisa!
This is a combo I wouldn’t have thought of, but I think it sounds delicious, and I can’t wait to try it!

So simple it blows my mind! I love sour cream with sweet fruit. And the fact that there are seedless grapes now, haha. My grandmother used to make a grape tart and seed each grape by hand…
