Ingredients for Avocado Egg Toast

Oroweat® Organic 22 Grains & Seeds bread is delicious, nutty, and flavorful. Therefore, it’s a perfect base for this avocado egg toast. I have been focusing on doing my small part to reduce my carbon footprint through composting, local farmers market shopping, gardening, and purchasing from companies (like Oroweat® Organic) that are focusing on sustainability in their baking!

Also, Oroweat® Organic uses ingredients that are farmed per strict USDA Organic standards, since they make the soil richer and promote bio-diversity. The brand also uses renewable wind energy to power their bakeries, use bread delivery vehicles that release 60% less smog, and donate 1% of their revenue to environmental causes in local communities as members of 1% for the Planet. I always pick up a loaf when I shop at my local Safeway, and I keep an eye out for coupons on the Safeway mobile app while I’m at it. I love that Safeway is carrying so many organic and sustainable products lately, don’t you?

Avocados are the perfect base for this toast and are also a great source of vitamins C, E, and B-6, as well as omega-3’s.

Hard-Boiled Eggs add more protein to this recipe than your typical avocado toast. My simple method for hard boiling eggs it to place eggs in a pot and fill with water at least an inch above the eggs. Bring to a rolling boil, then take pot off the heat and cover with lid for 15 minutes. Drain, rinse with cold water, and peel once they are cold enough to handle.

Micro-Greens are an optional garnish that add a little extra freshness and antioxidants.

Salt & Pepper can be added to taste.

You will also need a toaster for this recipe.

Avocado toast is one of my go-to breakfasts — and I love it with an egg. Haven’t tried hard-boiled, I usually do a fried one and make it a proper “knife and fork” affair. The bread is KEY for good avocado toasts and this one sounds PERFECT!
